In this tutorial a pump enclosed-type impeller is modeled - in CATIA - using part module and assembled using the assembly module. The impeller has two main parts among which lies the blades.
The impeller is modeled in CATIA through the following steps:
The impeller is modeled in CATIA through the following steps:
- The base plate of the fins is created using the revolve tool.
- The First blade of the impeller is created on the plate as a reference plane.
- The first blade is repeated 5 times radially in a full crown using the pattern tool.
- The cutting profile is created which hereafter will be revolved using the groove tool to make the final cut in the blades.
- The driving axle is created upon the base plate using the pad tool.
- The Second part is created by copying the cutting profile created earlier in step 4.
- Finally, the second part is assembled using coaxial constraint in the assembly module.
