010 Cap Surface Modelling - Part #1

In this tutorial, a cap is modeled using Generative surface module in Catia. Its design is simple and divided into two parts the bowl and the visor. The bowl is modeled in this tutorial, while the visor is modeled in another tutorial. The bowl is modeled using Generative Surface Design.

The Bowl is modeled in three steps:
  1. A circular surface is created using the fill surface command.
  2. Another Perpendicular surface is created and trimmed to create half circle.
  3. The half circle is rotated several times using the rotate command while keeping the original half circle. This creates the skeleton of the bowl upon which the surfaces will be built using the fill surface command.
Here is the video that shows the modeling of the bowl part of the cap:

009 Spring Modeling

In this tutorial, a spring is modeled using two modules in Catia: Generative Shape Design and Part Design.

The spring is modeled using four steps in the following video:
  1. The helix is modeled in the GS module.
  2. Sketch plane is defined at the starting point of the helix in the Part Design Module.
  3. A circle is sketched at the starting point of the helix.
  4. The "Rib" tool is used where the curve is the helix and the profile is the circle to finalize the spring.

008 Canonic Hopper Modeling

In this tutorial a hopper is modelled using Generative sheet metal design in Catia. It is modelled using the hopper tool.

This hopper is modelled using four simple steps:
  1. The parameters of the sheet metal module are defined.
  2. The first profile is sketched on a plane.
  3. The second profile is sketched on a parallel plane.
  4. The "Canonic hopper" tool is used to make the final hopper
Here is the video that shows how to make the hopper in full details:
