013 Gear Modeling

In this video tutorial, a simple Gear is modeled using Part Design Module in Catia. Here is the image of the final Gear.

The following video explains how to model a simple gear in 4 steps:
  1. The inner and outer races are sketched then extruded using the Pad command.
  2. The four edges are round filleted using the edge fillet command.
  3. The tooth profile is sketched and using the pocket command, it is negatively extruded.
  4. The profile is repeated around the whole peripheral of the gear using the circular pattern command.
